EDCTP-funded Collaborative Project

In 2008, the UVRI-IAVI program supported the UVRI in a successful application to the EDCTP to conduct a novel project that aims to build capacity for HIV vaccine R&D, to identify a potential new high-risk population for future HIV vaccine studies and to support the UVRI in their efforts to become a center of excellence in HIV research. Activities related to this project are conducted with a range of partners from Europe and Africa and are expected to further strengthen the African network of scientists.
