Capacity building

In collaboration with IAVI, the department actively contributes towards efforts to continuously build the program�s internal and external stakeholders� capacity for HIV Vaccine research.  Previously, the UVRI-IAVI HIV Program worked with the President�s office through the Uganda AIDS Commission to finalise the Uganda Guidelines for AIDS Vaccine Research, worked with Uganda National Council of science and Technology to update guidelines for research involving human research participants.
In partnership with health service providers, the department has spearheaded conducting skills trainings to promote quality service delivery. This includes refresher trainings- HCT, communication skills, computer skills, Family planning, Quality Improvement etc
